Trey Reed, Nature Walk
Dr. Redick had our class meet him at the Lion’s Bridge and the walk the Noland Trail. I had never been to either place but after the experience I had I will definitely be making more trips there in the future. The purpose of the nature walk was to make a connection with nature. Have a conversation with nature and listen to what it has to say. As I walked the trail I saw a large tree branch that had fallen and landed on another tree. Before taking this course I would have thought nothing of it. However, after taking this class I have been able to connect with nature. It was clear that it was the wind and not man who had cut the tree. I couldn’t help but notice that the fallen branch of the tree had landed on top of a smaller bushy tree. The branch lay gently on top like a pillow, as if it was nature’s intention to have it land there, like the tree was waiting to catch it. Is this nature’s justice; a wrong being immediately followed by a right? I feel as though nature is trying to tell me something. That it’s not random and there is balance.
