Laura Hancock - Time

Why do so many cultures have one general term for time? Why have we changed our views through time to combine the different experiences that can take place with time into one basic definition in our culture and language now? We use the terms "kairos" and "chronos" from the Greeks, but the English language only has one word for all the ways that time can take place.
