In the book, Lane discusses the landscape as a mask for the divine to show themselves to us. This is so very true and although it sounds obvious, is one that I never gave much thought to before. I noticed it though but it never clicked that God is beyond our comprehension and one that we cannot see. One that came to mind was the statue of the Virgin Mary that would cry tears of blood. God makes his presence known and insures that individuals keep him in mind. It is crazy to think that there is something that is watching, well that is if you believe in such a possibilities.
