Lisa Fontanez, Indians 4/2
For the final paper in the class, I wrote on the Native Americans from the Great Plains and it was an eye opener for me in regards to their beliefs. Their use of sacred places sounds kind of vague but that is because they are secretive about their traditions and rituals. From what I learned though, about it, they use it to assist in their rituals but they also create their own sacred places such as the sweat lodges and the dancing lodges. They receive them through their visions and quests in dreams. One tribe even would leave the lodges to decay naturally without man's touch upon it.
