Trey Reed, Labyrinth

For the last day of class Dr. Redick took us out to the great lawn to walk the labyrinth. A labyrinth is like a maze, except it one entry and exit and you cannot get lost. It is used for a time of reflection and meditation. I was the first to enter the labyrinth so I was by myself, but I was unable to think of anything to reflect on. Then I saw a sign outside the DSU for people to write on in memory of a student who passed away this week. I didn’t know him personally but I had seen him around campus. I started to think about how he was just a kid, like me and what happened to him could have happened to anyone. Just like that, everything you had is gone and everything you wish had done was incomplete. I started to reflect on my own life; changes I need to make, things I need to do and take seriously. The labyrinth helped me focus on this reflection. RIP Swerv.
