Lane’s fourth and final axiom states that “the impulse of sacred place is both centripetal and centrifugal, local and universal.” This made no sense to me at first. I thought God was the only omnipresent being. Recently, I reflected on this axiom and I realized what it meant to me; sacred places stay with you wherever you go. They have made an impact on you and your moral views. This is something that can never be taken away from you. Therefore, that sacred place is everywhere, because no matter where you are you it will always have that impact upon you.
