Trey Reed, Communitas 2

Today, there were multiple tours for potential CNU students walking all throughout campus. After a class a girl (that I did not know or had seen before) and I were about to walk out of McMurran, but then a huge group of people (obviously a tour) came through the doors before we could leave. There had to be at least 100 people coming in the doors. We waited about a minute for all these people to get inside. During this wait the girl and I kept laughing at the awkwardness, knowing that we were both thinking the same thing; “will these people ever get inside so I can leave?” When everyone was inside and we were out the doors we talked about how awkward it was. I feel like this connection we made was a form of communitas; a term we discussed in class. This just shows how easy it is to make a connection with people when going through the same, mutual situation.
