My sacred place has been a large part of my life for the past six years. I wrote my final paper for this class on it. Because of my dedication to it, it has rewarded me for my endeavors. My sacred place is a football field.
A football field during a game has allowed me to connect to deeper, more intrinsic emotions than anything else. I have met my best friends there. I have released vast amounts of negative emotions on it and it has caused me to grow for the better. Without football, I’d be half the person I am today. The game has brought positive role-models into my life and has helped guide me toward achieving goals. Without football, I would be a soft-spoken individual who is content with “going with the flow” of the majority. However, football placed me in moments that I realized something must be said, that I had to stand up and motivate others to do something that many believed to be unattainable. I have given football everything and because of this, it has rewarded me with being successful on and off the field. As I prepare for next season, I cannot wait to return to that field and encounter the fun that has caused me to love the game that has blessed me with so much.
