Ron Tecson Post #2 "Sacred place is not chosen, it chooses" 4/19

When I was living in Guam, I used to do a lot of outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and hiking. There are many wonderful trails in Guam. Most of the trails are nearby the ocean adding beauty to the scenery. I always go with a large group of people, every hike though seems no different than the others. It was like a routine, You pack your gear the night before, you meet your friends in the morning, do the hike, spend time in the trail (maybe an overnight camping), do some more hiking, then you go home.
I thought that when my friends here in Virginia asked me to go hiking with them in Shenandoah Valley that it will be the same palin routine hike experience again, but I was wrong.
As soon as I set foot to the trail, I felt the hug of Mother Nature welcoming me. I never noticed the time passing by, in fact I wanted the time to go slower because I wanted to enjoy the connection that I was having with Nature. It felt like I was in a different dimension, that each scene is made just for my enjoyment. When we got to the highest peak on the AT, I suddenly feel this overwhelming joy in my heart, I felt closer to God. By standing on the highest peak of the trail, I can see the greatness of God. I did not feel this when I was hiking the trails in Guam. This proves that "Sacred place is not chosen, it chooses"
