Travis Bruns Lane's Four Axioms 4/18

Belden C. Lane’s four axioms have been vital for me to understand this course. Before having assigned reading, I lacked any kind of knowledge regarding spirituality or sacred place and thought I was in over my head. Thankfully, the four axioms were in the first assigned readings. They allowed me to connect with an idea that, up until that moment, was irrelevant in my life. It made me believe that this class could have substantial influence on my life.

Since that moment, I have constantly been referring to the four axioms in my writings. Each axiom can relate to a spiritual connection or lack thereof that one feels, thus they are always relevant. Without knowledge of all four of the axioms, I would be lost in this class. It seems almost cheating since they readily explain every phemonological moment.

By learning these four axioms, I have been able to analyze situations in my life and understand why they occur. I no longer feel an out of body experience and simply say “whoa” and go on with my life. I now sit back and realize the reasons for such an occurrence and really enjoy the moment. It has become a way for me to relax during stressful occasions.
