Airfields have always symbolized somewhat of a nirvana for me. As a pilot I get to visit them often, and I was at a local one near my house doing a pre-flight check of the plane me and my dad were going to take up for a ride that afternoon. I love airplanes because they give a unique perspective of the world, and today I got to experience sunset in a plane for the first time. We went up around 630 at night and we were due to arrive back at the airfield around 8. The sunset was gorgeous and it felt that it was way better being in the air for it. It’s just a feeling of being on top of the world. As to why the lead me to airports, well airports symbolize the gate way to a whole new perspective on the world, and as it’s a perspective I hold very dear, I cherish it.
