Joey Voboril "Back to the beginning"

Reviewing some of my notes from the beginning of class I came across our very first assignment in class. We were asked to come up with a poem of 5 lines and it had to include our name, and other such classifications. My poem was as follows:

My name is Joey V.
I desire to be with Him who lets me be
And also - to see all there is to see!
The wilderness brings challenge and reward
I took this class for no chance will I be bored

Reflecting back on my expectations for the class it is funny how accurate most of what I said really was. Granted, it is vague and optimistic, but still accurate nonetheless. I still desire a deep connection and experience from my God and I do believe this can be achieved by spending quality time with nature. I now have such a deep desire to see more of this world (the AT and the Camino de Santiago in particular). I have witnessed and fully believe that the wilderness offers more challenge and reward than even I anticipated. And I was extremely accurate in saying that I wouldn't be bored in this class. There was never a dull moment in this class, which I absolutely loved.
