Daniel Bogert "Campus in Spring"
I haven't had much of a chance to visit many natural settings this semester, but I've really enjoyed walking around campus in this new spring weather. I recently had a particularly moving experience. I think it will be pretty hard to describe the feeling in words but I will do my best. I was walking past Potomac on my way to class on a particularly beautiful evening. The cool breeze was just right and the air felt pure. As I looked at the Potomac buildings it was as if I was looking at them for the first time. I wouldn't normally say its a particularly beautiful building but that night it looked different. It was dark out and a few lights glowed in the dorm rooms. It reminded me of a medieval village. It was like something out of a fairy tale. Then I felt the cool breeze on my face and something overcame me. I guess the best way I can describe it is that it was a profound sense of curiosity. I had caught a glimpse into a magical world, perhaps from a time gone by. This was a world of overwhelming beauty. All I wanted was to experience more of this world but I knew the feeling wouldn't last. Every once in a blue moon I'll catch a glimpse into a world like this, but it never lasts for long. I wish I could live in such a world, but I don't where to find it. It always disappears.
