Daniel Bogert "Nature's Healing Power"

I think nature nurtures our soul in the same way any beautiful thing does, but I believe there are limits to when this type of healing can be effective. For example when I'm in a good mood and I hear a beautiful song, I feel amazing. I feel even better than I did before. But if i'm in a bad mood and a beautiful song comes on, I never try to listen because it only makes me feel worse. Because the song is so beautiful, it reminds me of how bad I feel, and it reminds me that I can't experience or appreciate that beauty in my current state. It's the same way with nature. If I'm in a terrible mood and I step outside and it's a beautiful day, it only makes me feel worse. It just reminds me of all the beauty I could be enjoying if I was in a good mood. It's usually not enough to put me in a good mood on its own. But if I start out feeling good or even neutral, it definitely makes me feel a lot better. I think that nature enhances your mood when you already felt good, but if you felt bad it will probably make you feel even worse.
