The idea of flow has no doubt been pondered or experienced by most people on this planet. Whether anyone were consciously aware afterwards that that was what you were experiencing then or not, they have experienced it nonetheless.
Flow- The loss of ego
- “in the zone”- senses are heightened
- no longer self-conscious
- it is first of all a mental state (fully immersed in what you are doing)
- if you are listening to music then you cant be actively listening to it in flow.
Have you ever just been in a state of complete focus? Or at least you can remember snapping out of something and not really remembering well what you were doing for the past couple of seconds (assuming you haven’t lost consciousness from some kind of injury) and your body feels like it may be recovering from being in a heightened state of awareness? It is a state of flow where you consciousness can disconnect for moment and you are in pure focus and experience. What comes to mind personally is snowboarding down a mountain. Very quickly you can lose care or recognition of anything around you and you are purely focused on your route, your body is feeling each turn, you almost automatically can start to plan and see 10 turns ahead and it feels right. It is almost scary how efficient and miraculous your body can be when it is in a state of flow.
