Daniel Bogert "Symbolism of the Seasons"
The symbolic shift from winter to spring is pretty powerful if you stop and think about it. Winter can represent many things: death, darkness, chaos, and destruction. Sometimes in our lives we go through a rough patch. There is a winter in our soul. When we experience this it is often so unbearable that we don't ever see an end in sight. If you're in the heart of winter and you look out at all the barren trees, it's hard to believe that they will ever come back to life. It seems as though they are permanently broken. But spring always comes. Spring represents rebirth and a happier time. In Ecclesiastes is says that there is a season for everything. If we're going through a hard time we should remember that no matter how hopeless it seems, there's always a Spring waiting around the corner.
