Daniel Bogert "Nolan Trail"

When our class walked the Nolan Trail I couldn't seem to connect to the place the way we talk about in class. I did my best to be observant and patient but I just couldn't feel anything. There's a lot of talk about the restoring powers of nature, but it's not always as simple as walking out in the woods and experiencing god right away. One of Lane's axioms is that sacred place is not chosen, it choses. We cannot force ourself to have a religious experience. I think maybe the best thing to do in situations like this are to simply not force anything. Keep your eyes open but if you desperately look for a revelation from god you're probably just making it that much more unlikely.
