Walking the Noland Trail was a great way to actually experience the wilderness during class, and I also learned a lot of things along the way. Personally, I love the outdoors and while walking the trail, I wrote down a good 2 pages worth of thoughts. The farther and farther we went I felt closer and closer to nature. I felt so secluded from the outside world and actually forgot I was there for a class.
While I was walking I heard hundreds of sounds including birds chirping, singing, and the creaking of bugs throughout the woods. There were so many animals and plants surrounding me I felt like I was in a completely different world. Each plant and animal was unique in its own way and they were all working to create a completely different environment that I wasn't used to. Also, why I was out there I was at a peace of mind and my head was clearer than ever. This particular class gave me a much better understanding of actually being in nature and the effect it had, both spiritually and physically.
