Walker Riley "Bull Run Mountain"

Bull Run Mountain is a mountain about 5 minutes away from my home. Me and my friends often hike the mountain to the top to a certain spot that we tend to visit every time. Initially, I started doing it to get in better shape and get a good workout. The more and more I went though, the more I started to slow down and really try and enjoy the environment. I now go up the mountain alone sometimes and just stroll at my own leisure. It's an experience that I love and is a great escape from the world and its pressures.

After I started enjoying the environment of the mountain, I continued to go back again and again. I now take many friends with me, and although it is a rough climb, they tend to usually enjoy it as well. After the hour or so hike straight up the mountain, I reach a spot that me and my friends often go to now. It's one of the most amazing views I've personally witnessed (aside from the Rocky Mts.) and it has completely changed the way I look at nature. When you arrive you're so dead and tired your almost mad, but when you get to the top, you walk to the end of a cliff and overlook miles of fields, farms, animals, and endless mountains. It's so amazing that I just sit up there for hours at a time sometimes. After taking this class, it's given me more of an understanding as land in a spiritual way, and I can't wait to go back up with the new perspective I've gained.
