Laura Hancock - Relating to an experience

How much can someone truly relate to another person's sacred experience? Are experiences that are caused by being at a sacred place and/or pilgrimage similar to most other peoples'? Or are they experienced differently by people? And if they are experienced differently, can they lead to the same overall outcome for the experience? If a sacred experience is personal, how can someone else truly relate to it?

From my readings, there tends to be overall similar feelings experienced from being at a sacred site (such as people's experiences at Mt. Fuji in Japan). To each person though, these feelings can be felt very differently and can be evoked for completely different reasons.
