Emily Madeline-attachment

Lane talks quite a bit about how we are attached to places. Gabriel Marcel said "An individual is not distinct from his place; he is the place." It is so true. We are defined by our surroundings. Our surroundings are our comfort zones. They outline our lives from job to the type of house we live in. By looking at a person and looking at how they react to things and handle situations, you can get an idea of where they come from/how they live. Like when you are stuck in a crazy back up on the HRBT, people from this area are generally going to handle that better than someone who is from out of town or from the country. People from city-type places are used to it because it's a part of their scenery.
