Kyle Tobin Lanes Mask of the Holy

The part of this chapter that struck me most was when lane started using Martin Luther and his studies as examples in his work. He references Martin Luther when talking about how God always has to remain hidden because God projects an unapproachable light that would cause any human to burst into flames after seeing it. So God has to were a mask, but this masks comes in a different form than that of a mask that conceals a humans face. This masks can be shown by the a human wondering how they were created; this curiosity serves a tantalizing mask to allow the human mind to think pass the normal train of thought. I think Lane best sums up this article when stating, "The Mask of the Holy is to be understood to hid and reveal certain aspects of the splendor, grace or terror of the divine."
