Laura Hancock - an invaluble ability

One of the biggest and most important things that I have learned from this class was how to express my thoughts. When writing (and reading) personal reflections and essays, like the ones we have done, wording is critical. I've always tried to pay close attention to my words and whether they express my intended meaning, but this class taught me how important clear and accurate wording truly is when expressing oneself. Many of our writing assignments were, or included, personal reflections and experiences. When trying to describe a thought or feeling that is only known to me, precise wording is imperative. The reader has to understand my feelings and thoughts to be able to relate to them. This ability does not only benefit me in the classroom but in everyday interactions with other people, because relationships are built on clear communication.
