Melissa Modolo "life is liminal"
I know we have been talking about liminal states occuring within our life but does it make sense that life itself might be liminal? We are prone to life changing spiritual experiences in life as well as to incredible hardships and uncomfortable times. These are all characteristics of liminal states. So doesn't this mean that our lives are just a step between states which are not liminal? We only think of what we can see and touch and experience when we refer to reality. Reality to us is only what we already know. But where is the line drawn between our lives and our dreams? What separates our imagination from our lived experiences? We don't know what came before or what comes after. People have created an abundance of theories but none can ever be proven because no one in our liminal state of life can see past it. But I know people who have left this state called life and I know that they must have found something beyond our "reality". I hope that I can take my lived experiences with me after I die so that I can have the knowledge I have learned in this life with me in whatever comes next. Nothing in a liminal state is wasted as long as the experience is not forgotten.
