Ellen Simmons "Family"

In this ULLC class we talk about wilderness as sacred place but even though this is true there is also something else sacred to me that is not a place. This sacredness is family. I know I am not the only one that loves and adores their family but my family is truly something that I hold close to my heart. They are people that I can turn to in the best and worst of times, they are people that I can be proud of and they can be proud of me. Whether my family is near or far distance-wise they are always close to me in my heart. I know this may sound utterly cheesy but it is nonetheless true, without a doubt. I already spoke about some of the rituals we do as a family in a previous blog. These rituals bring my family closer together and we would not be as strong without them. Some of our rituals include meeting at the beach every year no matter how far apart we are (CA or VA), meeting when someone is graduating from college or high school, meeting to support someone in a showcase or activity, or to meet just because we miss each other. Oh, I cannot forget about meeting for Thanksgiving or Christmas, that is probably the best example for our rituals because we celebrate what we are thankful for and Christ, respectively.
I can definitely say that I do not know who I would be without my family. They have made me who I am today by passing down morals and knowledge. I love them and cherish them unconditionally.
